Breath of Fresh Air

Yet here we are. Swallowing up the mundane life that we don’t have to be living. That is right. You can jump up from your feet right now. And live. Here is some poetry that I made that really makes me feel alive.

And when I did,

You thought I was going backwards,

Settling back into the old,

Ways you knew as well as I,

Ways that you knew you could help,

But with eyes as deep as yours, how could you not see that

I was actually hurtling,

And falling,

Right into you.

Let’s take a second to reflect. I do not want to dump my poetry on you like a bucket of water. This is a steady stream, that you can enjoy and process. I really did fall into some one, the way that you do when you love them. It is like you throw them your past, present and future — and you say “Are you ready for this, because I am.” The next one is about a journey.

We were oh, so alive

Let’s go into the meadow,

With stars in our eyes.

Let’s jump off that rope,

Our hair in dirt encased knots.

Let’s go running barefoot through soft grass fields,

And let’s fall over on our backs at night,

Just to watch the sky.

Let’s twist around the trees,

Looking for little alive things.

Let’s find one of those crickets,

Let’s give him a name,

Then let’s take the river in our stride,

With stars in our eyes,

Ignoring taste of the water,

Because of the life of our little grasshopper.

And because we were oh, so alive.

Yes, lets go outside. If it is hot, feel how hot it really is. If it is cold, feel how stupid cold it is. If you can jump, jump! Because these journeys can not be taken forever, and they shouldn’t be taken for granted. Now, I don’t know how to explain this next one, but it doesn’t really need explaining.

I don’t know you.

And something inside,

Wants me to tell you who I am.

That I have been waiting for you.

Or something like that.

But I don’t know you.

I don’t even love you.

And I want to tell you everything.

So do it. Go. That thing that makes you feel alive, do it. And do it with love why don’tcha!

Thank you so much for reading! Maybe you write poetry too? Comment down below a poem you made. And if you enjoyed my post, please hit “like.” I hope to inspire you to do something that makes you feel alive! Thank you ALL!

  2. “Falling” really resonated with me. I was never really good with poetry but I know how to appreciate a good poem when I see one. Thank you Isabella 🙂 It’s so great to read your posts again after a long time.
